If you are like me, you mark pages in your life with songs. One that held a place for me has moved on and I will miss him. The first time I heard Dan Fogelberg, I was 18 years old and thought I had the world by the tail. His music gave meaning to a time when life was new and sometimes confusing. There was both solace and power in the words that he sang. And the message is as good now as then.

“Love when you can
Cry when you have to
Be who you must
That’s a part of the plan
Await your arrival with simple survival
And one day we’ll all understand”

Rest in peace, Mr. Fogelberg.

  1. I keep forgetting to check your musical postings.

I was in college at the University of Colorado when I first heard Dan Fogelberg. I loved his music. My absolute favorite song is “For Auld Lang Syne.”
